HEIGHT & AGE REQUIREMENTS
>The minimum height requirement is 38” tall (and 3 years old) to ride as passenger with someone at least 16 years of age and at least 56” tall to drive the sled. Two adults over 56″ tall are NOT permitted to ride together at this time

WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS
The maximum weight in a sled can not exceed 375 pounds in dry conditions and 330 pounds in wet conditions. Two adults over 56″ tall are NOT permitted to ride together at this time.

TRACK INFO
The track is roughly 4,000 ft in length.  1,000 ft to the top and 3,000 ft down.  Top speed is 25mp.  The patron is in control of their speed all the way down.  Total time it can take from start to finish is 7-9 minutes depending on how fast/slow one chooses to go.

Is the Flathead Lake Alpine Coaster Safe?

Yes, absolutely. The safety of our guests is our main priority, even if it means sometimes, we have to turn away customers who do not meet the safety guidelines of height, age or weight restrictions. We keep a close relationship with the MT Department of Labor & Workforce Development and official amusement inspectors. Our mechanical department performs weekly, and monthly inspections and an annual inspection is performed by the manufacturer. Our staff performs a daily inspection of all safety devices along the track before we open the coaster. Flathead Lake Alpine Coaster is equipped with the manufacturer’s latest (2023) safety technology.

What is the height requirement to ride the Flathead Lake Alpine Coaster?

The minimum height requirement is 38” tall (and 3 years old) to ride as passenger with someone at least 16 years of age and at least 56” tall to drive the sled.

What are the age requirements?

To be able to ride the coaster as a passenger, you have to be at least 3 years old (and 38” tall). The person driving the cart has to be at least 16 years old to ride with a passenger .

What are the weight restrictions?

The maximum weight in a sled can not exceed 375 pounds in dry conditions and 330 pounds in wet conditions.

Can 2 people ride together in one sled?

Yes, 2 people can ride together as long as the driver is at least 18 years of age and the passenger is under the age of 13.   Please remeber, the maximum weight limit can not exceed 375 pounds in dry conditions and 330 pounds in wet conditions.

Are you able to ride when it's raining or snowing?

Yes, our sleds can be equipped with rain shields which will keep you dry while riding in the rain.

Can I ride the Flathead Lake Alpine Coaster if I'm pregnant?

Unfortunately, if you're pregnant you are not allowed to ride the Flathead Lake Alpine Coaster.

Flathead Lake Alpine Coaster is located on US 93 South in Lakeside, Montana.  We are 25 minutes south from downtown Kalispell, 40 minutes south from downtown Whitefish, 1 hour south from Glacier National Park, and 2 hours north of Missoula.

Flathead Lake Alpine Coaster is not only fun for the whole family, but it’s opened year-round too!
